| It’s been a little while between drinks, but nevertheless as we turn the heater on and watch the leaves fall, read on for unmissable shows, opportunities and more…
Last Days of Peachland This is your last week to see Ellinor Forsberg’s excellent show, Peachland, on our walls. Ellinor’s work has attracted a lot of attention, not least of which was Robert Nelson’s review in The Age! Meredith Turnbull at Rae & Bennett Stay tuned for our next opening at R&B: Melbourne artist Meredith Turnull. Meredith’s work is a fantastic exploration of sculpture, installation, decorative objects and spatial practice. Her show in the Rae & Bennett Gallery is not to be missed! Opening on the 18th of May, keep an eye on your inbox for an official invitation. Hot off the Rollers Make sure you catch Lilli Waters’ huge show at Blak Dot in Brunswick, She Raw. Lilli has been very busy photographing 41 women for the exhibition and accompanying book, proceeds of which go to White Ribbon, supporting the prevention of violence against women.
Lilli Waters, She Raw, 20 x 30 inches archival pigment print on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag.
Michelle Tinta, 18 Frames Per Second, 110 x 140 cm archival print on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Michelle Tinta’s beautiful images are the result of her engagement with alternative analogue processes, this image was created as a tin-type by coating the surface of a sheet of tin with emulsion and then exposing it. By scanning the tin we were able to create large prints for Michelle’s exhibition in Sydney, Enumeration at Gallery Eight. If you’re up that way make sure you see the show, it was fascinating to learn of Michelle’s work and the way she utilises both analogue and digital processes harmoniously.
